Disclaimer
Overachiever provides general fitness information and automatically generated training plans. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for advice from a doctor, physiotherapist or other qualified professional, and it does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition.
Check with a professional first if
- you have a heart, lung, metabolic or other medical condition, or take medication that affects exercise;
- you have chest pain, dizziness or shortness of breath with activity;
- you are pregnant or postpartum, or have irregular or absent periods;
- you have osteoporosis, a recent fracture, joint problems or an injury;
- you are new to exercise or returning after a long break.
Train sensibly
- Starting loads are estimates. Warm up, start conservatively and adjust to how the weights actually feel.
- Use good technique and safety equipment (spotters, safety bars, collars). Stop if you feel pain and get it checked.
- Training to failure and jumping or sprinting carry more risk than easier training. Only do them if you are able to do so safely.
